Casual with an air of sophistication

In South Florida Transitional kitchens are becoming even more popular than Contemporary. Transitional kitchens combine elements, past and present, which are pleasing to the eye. Stainless steel appliances and accents contrast beautifully with the classic appearance of natural wood cabinets. Shaker style doors were selected, and a combination of timeless colors, white paint and dark stain, enhanced the Transitional look. A contrasting color is often introduced on kitchen islands, hoods, moldings, etc. In this kitchen the lower and upper cabinets are contrasted; a technique best used in large spaces so that balance can be achieved. The result: what the client requested – a casual and comfortable feeling – with an air sophistication.
